Pilates Teacher Training

COMPREHENSIVE TEACHER TRAINING (CTT)

CTT is a 6-12 month training program that includes education in the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and barrel Repertoires, comprehensive anatomy, and post-rehabilitation. The complete training encompasses 550+ hours of combined classroom instruction, observation, personal review, and apprenticeship activity.

PLUS get $5000 in additional fees waived

Many comprehensive teacher training programs require you to pay additional fees to take classes, participate in private training, and to use their studio for required personal review. These additional fees can cost upwards of $5000. CTT includes FREE Chair & Barrels training (That's over $1500 worth of free training), manuals and materials, assessment exams, future certification workshop auditing privileges, unlimited class participation, and studio use for practice (a $5000+ value). Registrants also receive a reduced private training rate of $50 for 12 months. Registration for the comprehensive program requires a 50% upfront deposit, with the balance due before the first day of instruction. Payment plans are also available. 

 

550hrs CTT = Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Levels 1-3

  1. 200hrs Classroom (does not include homework and case studies)

    2. Anatomy & Biomechanics

    3. History

    4. Repertoire & Exercise Selection/Session Design

    5. Special Populations & Contraindications

    6. Post-rehab Considerations

    7. Teaching Skills & Client Interaction

  2. 100hrs Personal Review/Practice

  3. 50hrs Classes/Sessions with a qualified Teacher Trainer (NOT included as personal review hours)

  4. 110hrs Observation: 80hrs live in-person or online + 30hrs observation of teachers from other schools may be on-demand)

  5. 20hrs Assistant Teaching (with a qualified Teacher Trainer)

  6. 15hrs Supervised Student Teaching (under the supervision of a qualified Teacher Trainer)

  7. 50hrs Solo Student Teaching/Practice Teaching (group classes & private training on all apparatus, min of 2 different clients)

  8. 5hrs Mentorship (with Qualified Teacher Trainer)

  9. 3hrs Practical Exam

  10. 3hrs Written Exam

 

Please note that these hours are minimums. Though required training is completed in 6 months, it is not uncommon for students to require continued study and practice for an additional six months before feeling ready to take exams. 

 

Candidates wishing to sit for the National Pilates Certification Program Exam must complete coursework for all modules and ALL required practical, observation, and personal review hours. A passing score of 80% or higher is necessary for the issuance of a Pilates Associates Diploma (also referred to in the industry as an "assessment-based certificate."). The National Pilates Certification Program (“NPCP”) requires this compulsory documentation as proof of education before sitting for the National Pilates Certification Exam.

 

Additional Benefits:

  • Limited opportunities for unpaid apprenticeship may be available at the training center.

  • Studio space may be available at the training center for personal review with advance reservation at no additional charge. (subject to individual training center policy)
